About Kriegmann Dobermanns |
The Back Paddock - A peaceful haven for man and beast
Due to legislation in Queensland all our whelpings now take place in Perth Western Australia, and puppies are subsequently transported back to Queensland for assessment. This has limited our breeding programme and litters are not readily available.
My aim is to breed the total dobermann, a smart good looker with good health. I haven't done it yet, but I am coming closer to my ideal. There is still a long way to go and much to learn along the way. When I started in Dobermanns, the pinnacle (for me) was to obtain a ROM (Register of Merit) dog. I have two such dogs now,"Tia"Aust. Ch. Bellara Justa Jewel CD ROM and "Kaiser", Aust. Ch. Kriegmann Dark Knight CD ET AD JD BH ROM , with two others from Kaiser's litter well on the way to their ROM's. Visit some other ROM dobes here.
Health is another aim high on my agenda. I test all my breeding stock for Hip Dysplasia, von Willebrand's Disease, and Cardio. At this stage Cardio is not a one off test and needs to be re-done every 2 years. I believe if the tools are readily available, I should use them to make informed decisions about possible matings. Anyone purchasing a Dobermann would ask for nothing less. A stable dog with a healthy disposition.
All litters from Kriegmann are carefully planned, this is my hobby and passion but I do have a full time career to consider. Puppies are planned around annual leave on most occasions. I have recently taken much pleasure in being able to help first time breeders with their litters. It is nice to see other Dobe enthusiasts get off on the right foot, and not have to learn it ALL the hard way.
I do however have a waiting list for those people that know what they want and are willing to wait for it.
